Self Portrait, 2020, Oil on Panel, 10 x 10 inches
My work has held this space for 10 years and I've been so fortunate to share and connect here. As I write these words, it is hard to believe that a whole decade has slipped by. When I started painting, I won an award (this website for a year) from a painting of my parents' cat that I had made and entered into a local art show. Subsequently, as many artists do, I've shared my joy, sadness, celebrations, loves, losses and acceptances with layers of paint, pictures of my process, bodies of work, and inner musings all gathered and curated on a digital platform to document my journey as a painter.
Now I am feeling a quickening or a fluttering in my heart to begin a new adventure. An adventure, perhaps, that will be solitary as painting tends to be. I'd like to think that I will spend my days where my private thoughts can be my own.
So it is time for me to move on and this feels right to take my leave here.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by over the last 10 years. Please feel free to connect with me on Instagram and Facebook. You can also email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please stay well and take care.
